In my dreams…
I saw a chalet in the mountains. The wooden walls emanated safety and warmth, the stone foundations a sense of solidity. It stood within a tiny hamlet, set at the end of a road. The silence was balm for my soul. My gaze travelled over meadows, to the peaks of the mountains that surrounded us, making me feel protected. The air carried a scent of wood-smoke, tea and cake.
I walked inside: entrance hall, ski storage room, cosy living room, fireplace; a sauna, a wine cabinet – all waiting for me. I knew that I could come to rest here, unwind, free myself from all pressures and schedules. A Fairy Godmother brought us breakfast and helped, almost unnoticed, wherever it was needed. The children could run straight out of the house to play, run and laugh. We were at home… in Lech am Arlberg.
